The Story Behind Sage & Gray
Sage & Gray was founded in 2024 by Lindsay Mindler, designer and former VP of Design at Pinterest. After over a decade building a career in San Francisco, Lindsay returned to her hometown of Rochester, NY with her husband Andy—a visual artist at S&G.
Not long after their move, Lindsay and Andy had a near-death experience that reframed everything. It became a clarifying moment—reminding them that life is fragile, family is everything, and the spaces we live in deeply shape how we feel, connect, and grow.
With this renewed perspective, Sage & Gray was born—with the belief that home should nurture joy, beauty, and a sense of belonging. Even our name reflects that purpose. “Sage” and “Gray” is a tribute to our children, Kora Sage and Lincoln Gray—a daily reminder of what matters most.
